Hospice of Michigan 30th Birthday Celebration!


Duff Goldman from "Ace of Cakes" will appear at DeVos Performance Hall on Wed., Sept. 15 for Hospice of Michigan's 30th Birthday Celebration.

During his presentation, he'll share stories about his rise to fame and his hit show. Then,Goldman and his team will unveil Hospice of Michigan’s 30th birthday cake. The cake baked by Charm City Cakes will also be served to those in attendance at a reception, following Goldman’s presentation.

Goldman, a native of Royal Oak, is known for using power tools to create his edible spectacles, including cake versions of Wrigley Field, the Hubble Space Telescope and more. Food Network recently finished airing the eighth season of "Ace of Cakes," and the ninth season is in production.

Ticket prices to this event are $150 (VIP), $60 (orchestra), $40 (mezzanine) and $25 (balcony).

The nonprofit's Open Access program provides care for the terminally ill and their families regardless of their ability to pay.

As for the big cake, Hospice representatives aren't yet certain what Goldman will come up with...

Mike Epps & Friends at DeVos Performance Hall


Comedian Mike Epps and his friends will bring the laughs to DeVos Performance Hall on Saturday, September 25th at 8:00 PM. Tickets for this event go on sale this Friday, July 2nd at 10:00 AM!

Mike Epps has generated an extraordinary amount of buzz among his peers and within the entertainment industry for being one of the funniest comic actors to emerge into the Hollywood scene as of late. He can currently be seen starring in his own one-hour standup special “Mike Epps: Under-rated and Never Faded” airing on Comedy Central and Showtime, and is set to host the BET Hip Hop Awards this fall.

In 2009, Epps hosted the BET Hip Hop Awards and released his first comedy rap album called “Funny Bidness: Da Album.” The album features Snoop Dogg, Kid Rock and Slim Thug, to name a few. That year also marked the release of his comedy DVD “Funny Bidness.” Epps also starred opposite Mos Def and Donald Faison in the dark comedy, “Next Day Air,” from Summit Entertainment. He also made a hilarious cameo in the 2009 mega-hit “The Hangover.”

Epps has appeared in many feature films, including “Next Friday,” “Guess Who” and “The Fighting Temptations.” Epps will be seen this fall in the Warner Bros. film “Lottery Ticket,” also starring Ice Cube, Bow Wow and Brandon T. Jackson. Also look for him next year in the CBS Films action-thriller “Faster” starring Dwayne Johnson.
